Taking the piss out of FIFA’s brand police

FIFA is cracking down in South Africa on what they call “ambush marketing.” They’ve nailed a national low-budget airline and lollipop makers with swift action.

“Welcome to the Republic of FIFA,” read a recent newspaper headline, highlighting the frustrations of South Africans who feel the world football governing body has an iron grip on “their” World Cup. Via AFP

It’s all bullshit and incredibly maddening and it’s classic FIFA. But Kulula, the national low-budget airline FIFA nailed for claiming to be “the unofficial national carrier of the you-know-what,” has done some expert piss-taking, claiming copyright on the Sky™.
